PTPA Hosts Players in SW19 Ahead of Wimbledon

The PTPA wrapped June and kicked off July in London, England, where the organization hosted  and met with players and other stakeholders ahead of the most coveted tournament of the year: Wimbledon Championships.

On Wednesday, June 28, the PTPA’s Executive Committee gathered for a dinner meeting at Wimbledon Village’s The Ivy restaurant. Executive Committee members Novak Djokovic, Vasek Pospisil, and John Isner joined Executive Director Ahmad Nassar and other PTPA staff to discuss updates since the last meeting in Paris in May, as well as key priorities and areas of focus for the PTPA in the coming weeks and months.

Recently added PTPA ambassador Nicolas Lapentti also joined the meeting, gathering in person with the Executive Committee for the first time. Lapentti, a former ATP player, will play a key role in the PTPA’s player engagement efforts moving forward.

On Thursday, the PTPA hosted its first annual Welcome to Wimbledon Lawn Party – an open house party for players, coaches, agents, and other stakeholders in town ahead of the tournament’s start. The event provided guests an opportunity to unwind, mix and mingle, and get to know the PTPA staff in an informal setting with food, drink, music, content creation opportunities, gifts and more.

Ahmad Nassar and Executive Committee members Vasek Pospsil and Hubert Hurkacz also shared brief remarks on the PTPA’s momentum, areas of focus, and the current state of the tennis industry. Check out the below highlights from the remarks and party.

Players can contact the PTPA via info@ptpaplayers.com, or through social media or WhatsApp, to receive a recording of the full remarks.
